Every day, the Lesbian/Gay Community Service Center is working to improve the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people in greater Cleveland. Through programs such as the Hotline, PRYSM and the Living Room, we provide support and information to thousands of people each month.

THE CENTER

Support the Center's existing programs, including the Hotline, Living Room, Presence & Respect for Youth in Sexual Minority (PRYSM), Justice & Equity in Sexual Education (JESE), antidiscrimination outreach, speakers bureau, resource center, community meeting space and the Lesbian/Gay Archives

Expand outreach and support to lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth, including training educators and advocating for laws to protect youth who are lesbian, gay or bisexual as well as the children of lesbians, gays, and bisexuals

Revive the Mary Ann Finegan program, and develop an advocacy capability to highlight incidents of discrimination against lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgendered persons

Expand support of lesbian/gay people of color communities and strengthen outreach

Create a coordinated public relations capability, to include a regular public service announcement capability and media relationships that will result in coverage of critical lesbian/gay issues

Begin a plan for the physical expansion and/or relocation of the Center to enable expansion of programs and increased utilization of services

Carry out capital improvements and upgrade computer technology to increase Center service delivery including use of email to communicate to local, regional and national lesbian/gay groups and individuals

▾ Create an appropriate event or series of events to mark the Center's 20th anniversary, and develop appropriate programs/events to relate to Cleveland's 1996 bicentennial celebration recognizing 200 years of lesbian/gay history in Cleveland
